THIS PROJECT ENABLES TRANSLATION AND SUPPLY OF ‘FEELS LIKE I’M BREATHING’ FOR

JUNE 2019 KOREAN MISSIONS LEADERS CONFERENCE

TOTAL PROJECT COST: $3150 NZD

  • Enable mission organisations to better respond to issues of brokenness and woundedness among their people.

  • Contribute to more healthy and sustainable ministry situations among Korean missionaries

  • Help minimise the cost and disruption of bringing workers ‘home’ for counselling and care by providing a first-line pastoral care resource on the field.

  • Provide ongoing opportunities to support and collaborate in the area of global missions

SUMMARY: In mid-2019, over one hundred Korean missions leaders will convene to discuss emotional health and wellbeing among cross-cultural workers. Korea is now the world’s largest sending country, and addressing the pastoral needs of Korean workers is a significant kingdom priority. We believe that partnering with Korean missions leaders to equip and resource their workers around the world, will result in more healthy and sustainable ministry situations, as well as encourage a more effective disciple-making approach toward they seek to reach for Jesus.

One of our Torn Curtain partners, Ruth Maxwell (Member Care, SIM Canada), will present a research paper at this convention, and will offer every delegate a copy of ‘Feels Like I’m Breathing.’

TORN CURTAIN COLLECTIVE is partnering with a young Korean Christian, Jung Ho, to complete the translation.

THE ‘BOOKS FOR KOREA’ PROJECT INCLUDES:

  • SETUP AND translation FROM ENGLISH TO KOREAN $1200

  • KOREAN LANGUAGE PROOFING $370

  • REFORMATTING $450

  • COVER DESIGN (KOREAN VERSION) $250

  • PRINTING AND DISTRIBUTION OF 100 COPIES TO KOREA $880

OPTIONAL: A further $2400 allows Anya to travel to Korea to meet the leaders of missions organisations and form an ongoing partnership with printers and Christian book distributors in Korea.
